I have only used SO4 for 20 years or so. I brew 4% SMASH beers, pale in colour. I want to try a few different yeasts, so suggestions please.

(all grain BIAB) thanks

Hi if you go on CML'S website they do a lot of different yeasts and they have a spec sheet for everyone which tells you which yeast does and the ales to brew with it. go here https://www.crossmyloofbrew.co.uk/yeast-specs

If you want more esters, Verdant. Or try combining Windsor/S-33 with S-04.

Cleaner more hop forward K-98, BRY97, or a lager yeast warm, S-189.

BE-134 or Belle Saison to go a little rustic, fruity but peppery.

As @Sadfield implies, recommendations really depend on what you’re looking for.

If you’re using SO4 you might like Mangrove Jacks Liberty Bell but I think this best suits English amber ales.

You might though consider US-05, I like it in pale ales because it gives a cleaner flavour.

Can't really go wrong with Kveik.

Hornindal and Voss both work particularly well in pale ales in my opinion.

Fermented at higher temps, they tend to give some nice fruity esters, that compliment pales.
