Easy Recipe this one (and probably been done to death here!), a Strawberry Turbo Cider using Tinned strawberries... Expecting an ABV of around 5.9%

Ingredients
4 Litres of Apple Juice
2 Tins of Strawberries in Syrup (No additives, Preservatives or Flavourings)
1 tsp Yeast Nutrient
1 Sachet of Youngs Cider Yeast

Method
1: Blend 1 tin of Strawberries, syrup included, with 100 grams of sugar.

2: Put blended Strawberries in saucepan with 50ml of water and heat for 10 minutes on a medium heat. Allow to cool.

3: Whilst Strawberry mix is cooling, Pour 3 Litres of Apple Juice in Clean, Sterilised Demijohn.

4: Add the other tin of Strawberries to the Demijohn along with syrup.

5: When at room temperature, add the strawberry mix from the saucepan.

6: Take a hydrometer reading (1050 was my reading)

7: Add 1 tsp of Yeast Nutrient & Sachet of Yeast (Didn't Rehydrate yeast - only 4.5 litre batch)

8: Attach Bung & Airlock and give a gentle shake.

9: Wait until your Strawberry awesomeness is ready!!!

Will Update after bottling!!

Looks delicious. Will have to grab some strawberries and apple juice next time I'm at the supermarket.

Well, no packaged strawberries at my local supermarket so I grabbed some passionfruit pulp instead. I can see a few ciders which are mostly apple with just a bit of something else being brewed at mine soon. Still keen for strawberry in particular though.

I'm thinking of giving this a go how long does it take roughly for this to be ready. Sorry I'm a newbie. How can you tell it is done?

G'day Mate. I've made some cider recently and I used Barkers blackcurrant syrup which has no preservatives in it. I don't think I added enough though. The other one I bought and haven't used is a Cascade raspberry. The reason I haven't used it is because it does have preservatives so may or may not work after boiling. I've noticed Woolworths do a couple of syrups too, but also with preservatives.

Blackcurrant and raspberry sound tasty. 😋

Unfortunately my local Woolies is a couple o' hundred km away but I do try to keep brewing in mind when i go away and keep an eye on the local supermarket specials.

Mate, I'll do an experiment. I'll buy some of the Woolies stuff.
I'll boil it and add half a bottle to 3 litres of Woolies apple juice. I'll let you know how it goes. I'll try and start it this week.
I'm pretty sure the Woolies AJ is always $3 for 3 litres.
