Firstly hello! This is my first time on the forum and it seems really nice so i look forward to bugging all of you with silly questions:P

This is only my second brew so im a little confused, i started my Lager kit about 10 days ago and everything went fine, og was 1.046 and it finished fermenting after about 4-5 days to 1.010 which i was pleased with, so i thought i would let it rest for a few more days to see if this would help it clear (my first brew was a little cloudy). This evening i was a bit confused when i saw the airlock kick back into life, its bubbling away once every couple of minutes, not much i know but it was strange. I've heard this can be a sign of an infection, and my brew burns a little if you smell it from the f.v. If anyone could settle my nerves i would be very grateful, cheers!

Worry not, if it's under an air lock it will be ok.
I have an AG thats still popping after 24 days!

As eric says its probably ok. :thumb: The burning smell is the Co2 give off by the yeast. But you are right to suspect an infection, :thumb: leave it a few more days to see if it stops or al least dramatically slows, if it hasnt, leave a day or 2 longer then take a Hydrometer reading, if its unusually low well below 1010 then it may well be infected & you will be able to confirm this by tasting. if it tastes ok then no worries.
