Having seen Alemans thread about storing hops, that answers one question about storing them, freeze them :thumb:

on from there how about storing crushed malt :?:

we've no local supplier so having to buy via the internet and paying postage I want to optimise my carriage charges, by buying enough for 2 'brews' and making the order more cost efficient.

yeasts OK in the sealed packets and sugar, well can just use ordinary granulated :!:

Well I buy 25Kg sacks and crush as I need it, that way it lasts a long time :thumb: But most people probably do as you do and buy 2-3 brews worth (dependent on your brewing schedule)

I tend to keep my yeast and hops in the beer fridge (on the top shelf)

thats what I intend to do, but what is the best way to store crushed malt please :?:

I would say tried in sealed bags, expel most/all of the air. Maybe even double bag it. Then store it in a cool dry area (away from MICE I speak from experience here  )
I used to keep it inside an old FV with a lid on it.

Cheers buddy :thumb:

I know what you mean about the mice, we live out in the sticks and the little beggars will soon be looking for 'winter quarters' the traps were put down a couple of weeks ago when the nightime temps started dropping, none so far ...... but it won't be long :!:
