They go in there as soon as I get them and I use them as necessary. Once a pack is open I close it up as best I can and put it in a sealed plastic container in the freezer. You don't need to worry about derosting them before use. I keep all my grains in airtight fermenting buckets in the garage.

Joined Jan 15, 2011 Messages 812 Reaction score 14 Location Castle Donington Apr 25, 2011 #3 My grain is in polythene bags (the bulk MO and lager malts are in sacks) which end up either in FVs or in boxes in the dark. My hops I keep in my fridge at about 3C. Most are in foil, and I re-seal immediately. They keep my yeasties company.
