Iam about to start another wherry kit but i would like it to be a bit stronger. Can anyone advise me on how much sugar to add to my wort? Also will it affect the taste much? My last wherry only came out at about 3.6% which is a lillte on the weak side for me.

I'm sure I've read recently that you can add up to 15% sugar without upsetting the balance too much, so if you've got a 3kg kit that would be 450g, which would be 20g to the litre, which would give another 10 points onto the OG and push it to 5% abv.

Can anyone else advise if that's correct and/or advisable?

Edit: This thread says 10%, so that would be 300g sugar giving +7 gravity points and 4.5% abv.

Thanks for that moley. 4.5% would be just nice,i will let you know how i get on.
