Does anybody buy and sell stocks / shares online? I have a bit of spare money that I'd like to invest and try and make more money. I'm looking for a good online broker that isn't going to rip me off and charge me the earth per deal.
Engineer I was looking to stay clear of an ISA and just buy stocks while there low and sell them when there a little higher. I have been looking at few big companies but there prices take a few months to rise and fall so I am looking for a company that's not going to charge me the earth every month. jayjt29 did you manage to break even? What went wrong after making a few quid? Thanks for xo.co.uk I'm going to look into them.
Just a word of warning
when you sell..
Make sure you know whether you are selling the 'Rights' or not
What kind of rights do you acquire when you buy on the stock market Robin? I have never heard of rights being mentioned when buying and selling shares.
Shane
g'day all.
I have some unit trusts which I want to get rid of. Trouble is I'm in Australia and the company are in the UK.
I've tried to register on their site, but it won't let me as I don't have a UK phone number.
I've sent emails to them via their website. The promised replies within two working days haven't happened.
I could phone them, but don't want to be on hold forever.
I could by mistake use a UK phone number to register I suppose.
Does anyone on here work in the stocks / shares business?
Why not get a UK relative to purchase a mobile PAYG phone and send it out to you?
The phone will have a UK number and I for one use my mobile PAYG phone regularly for financial stuff because it is the one phone where I can always be reached whether I am in the UK or overseas.
PS
Apparently, it helps if you describe yourself as a "Nigerian Prince" if you live overseas and really want to get financial help from people in the UK!
