Hi

I am Graham from Winchester. I did a lot of grain brewing in the 1980's but then family and work pressure made me give it up. Now that I have retired I have just started again using my faithfull Burco which has been in the loft for the last 20 odd years. Most of the other kit such as my King Kegs are still in good condition and there is even gas in the co2 cylinder but I could not get get a new glass tube for my heater- something about they now have to be factory sealed -H&S gone mad again.

Anyway I am thinking about constructing a false bottom fot my Burco to save some of the lifting. Has anybody done this and could offer advice particulay on supporting the mesh which in itself should not be a problem as there appears to be a good selection on Ebay.

I'd love to see some of the recipes you were brewing way back then.
Basically the same as now, but not quite as cluttered.
I know, I was there!
What say you GM?

Hello Graham. Welcome to the forum and welcome back to brewing.
What a great hobby to do during retirement, perfecting recipies and enjoying the fermented fruits of your labour.
