I have just recently done my first home brew. I have the bottles out in garage now. I only bottled them up last Tuesday. It says to leave them for 14 days. My question is!!! The bottles always seem to have sedament on bottom of bottle, is this normal? i turn bottles upside down and swirl it back into the ale' im just wondering is the ale still all ok. Any help would be great. Thanks

Perfectly normal :thumb:

Most people try to pour the beer gently and leave the sediment undisturbed in the bottom of the bottle, this is sometimes easier if you decant it to an oversized jug first and then serve from that.

It won't do you any harm to mix the yeast back into the brew, and some people do it quite intentionally, but it may loosen your system up a bit, if you know what I mean.

Welcome to the forum

Leaving the brew somewhere cool for a week after fermentation but before bottling will help reduce the amount of sediment in the bottle. Even so, you'll always get more falling out of suspension whilst conditioning. Best to leave it behind when pouring as Moley suggests.
