2 questions here chaps

1: My 2nd Wherry has been conditioning for about 6 weeks. It looks good, clearish, and has a good head. Although, it does initially taste rather yeasty (to begin with, after a few mouthfuls you tend not to notice) Any ideas as to why this is, and how I could prevent it in future?

2: After drinking a 2l bottle last night, i have a bit of a sore throat this morning. This has happened before after a night on the Wherry. I'm assuming (probably wrongly) that this has something to do with the yeastiness. Any thoughts on this, or do I just need to man up?

Thanks for looking!

Probably needs a little more time - my Coopers APA tasted a little yeasty up to about 2 months, then lost all the yeast taste (probably as it cleared to the bottom of the bottle).

As for the sore throat, not sure - not something I've ever experienced. Well, not from drinking beer at any rate. Too much cask strength Lagavulin in one sitting did do that once, but it's incredibly powerful both in flavour and alcohol (58%) - a world away from a wherry!
