Have struggled with those awful barrel taps :evil: on my boiler and mash tun for to long, so did something about it today. Nothing clever been done many times before but might encourge others to up rate
There you see a standard 15mm tap with a 15mm tank connector drilled out to 15mm with 15mm pipe soldered through it
Because the boiler had been drilled to take a barrel tap :evil: I used a length of pvc wire to take up the mis fit. Probably not necessary but it should keep things in place
Finished job, that should fix it.
Whilst I was at it I sorted my mash tun.
More slots for herms pumping and added a polycarbonate false floor, holes 3mm as a first filter to help stop pump sucking at grain .
As the filter was 22mm I used a 22mm tank connector this time and as you can see reduced it down to 15mm before the tap.
Hope to do a small brew of lager in this kit, to ferment before the weather warms up.
