Sodastream to carb homebrew lager?

Has anyone used a Sodastream to fizz up homebrew lager?

I was thinking it would save bottle conditioning and hence eliminate sediment, making the bottles transportable and fridgeable too.

Don't see any reason why not. I know there is a member on here that does this with his turbo cider. It means you can have it (cider) flat or carbonated dependant on mood. No reason why it wouldn't work for lager. Only problem i can see is that i reckon you won't get the same head / retention that you would with a normal bottle conditioned beer. You could always try it with a couple of bottles in a batch. If you do then let us know the results, I'd be interested..
