just been reading alemans post on rehydrating yeast and wondered if i have ballsd a up a brew, previous ag's have been done using yeast kindly donated off local brewers but last weeks brew i used so4 and just sprinkled on top then aerated , will this have a bad effect on the outcome of the brew :?

na, it'll be fine.

Best practice is to aerate 1st - but chillax.

Nope not at all :thumb:
If it began to ferment within 12 hours and attenuated to where you think it should be it'll be grand :)

cheers ts , yeh everything seemed to have gone ok acording to calcs [og 1040 fg 1010 only took 4 days but i gather so4 is pretty quick] just got a bit concerned when i read about rehydraing

Can't imagine Wez in a Hoodie

Rehydrating yeast is a good method of finding out whether the pack is viable, I recently dry sprinkled a pack of US-05 and it didn't take off at all, it was a sachet that I'd had hanging around for ages and it was clearly a dud. I went out and bought a fresh pack, rehydrated and it was fine.
However since your brew has obviously kicked off, then no harm done.
I'm now in the rehydration camp for sure.
