My bottle of Mick`s Buzzbee Bitter has been left to settle for the week as suggested and gently chilled for an hour and a half Very well presented label :)
Taste time :drink:
Big hiss on opening and aroma was intially of malt - definetley the chocolate malt, also a slightly fruity aroma almost apple like that must be the honey. I poured first into a jug as the carbonation is quite high. Frothy head which was teased back with a pocket beer machine Good clear colour.
First taste was again almost fruity - the honey seemed not strong but very subtle to me but with a definant apple taste that was not unpleasent - I didn`t find it sweet but quite dry, i find honey brews can become dry with time. Again this wasn`t unpleasent. There is only a very slight bitterness as this is not a highly hopped beer, no hop flavour or aroma came through - but the beer was intended this way. Overall the malt and hops have taken a bit of a back seat to the honey flavour and the high amount of honey in the brew has made it fairly dry and thin. The original recipe gives an abv of just under 5% and i would imagine this was simular or maybe stronger?
I did enjoy the pint and it is a great first effort that any brewer would be rightly proud of- less honey and some more hops would work better for me  I like hoppy beer but I also enjoy different types of beer, i`ve enjoyed drinking and writing this - the beer did work and was quite well balanced.
Well done Mick and thanks for leting me try it
When Rick`s Revenge is bottled I`ll send you one up
