A couple of weeks ago I posted a thread here ref- 'Hot break question' asking weather it was an advantage to skim the foam that formes at the start of the boil :wha: . What prompted the question was a discussion with my mate while we were brewing my Sam Adams style Boston larger which we did in fact skim  . Well I thought I would post the result of our expriment. :ugeek: ........... The brew is now in the bottle after largering & it is absolutly crystal cleer & I mean crystal cleer, :thumb: I have cracked open a bottle & it has carbonated perfectly & tastes fantastic with a nice malty crispness with slight sweetness :drink: I am still not sure whether the clarity was down to the skimming or whatever but Im certainly going to do this again in the future :thumb: . any further thoughts on this? :?:

I may be incorrect on this but i'd say the clarity isn't down to skimming - I just think you cracked it :thumb:

However I am also a great believer in "if a system works..stick to it"

Skim away :thumb:

Yes your probably right Wez :thumb: but who knows :wha: there are so many variables in the brewing prosess

Yeah man but as long as it works - keep doing it .... thats what I tell the Mrs   :P

Im going to do it on the next brew if I get the same results Then Im a converted skimmer
