Hi all,
Ive been leaning towards maybe trying A.G brewing for a wee while and was starting to look at bits and bobs to make my mash tun, boiler etc. Ive been given a 28 litre Thermos box today, and realise alot of people use them for the tuns with a little modification. My question is, by the time the grains etc are added to the heated water in it, is 28 litres a bit too small??? If it is ill buy a bigger one and not bother messing around with the one i was given. 28 litres of water in it almost brim fills it!

Thanks
Mike

I use a 24L thermobox and have no problems producing 23L of up to 1.060 beer

Thanks for the reply Aleman
Can i ask how much liquor you put in each time to get ur 23L ?

It varies depending on the beer, but normally something line 13L of Mash Liquor and then about 25L of Sparge liquor . . . Or rather enough sparge liquor to give me 27-28L of sweet wort in the boiler
