Simcoe substitute

Simco is a proprietary hop which only a handful of growers are allowed to cultivate. Looking at the AA I would suggest chinook as a substitute, but you may notice that the high citrus notes are lacking.
 
I've been after simcoe for a little while now.
Got two different recipes for beers I love that I know use them.

From rumours I hear, I don;t think we'll be seeing any in 2012 either.... :evil:
 
Really? Man I didn't know that. That seems silly though they'd have a huge customer base if they sell internationally. www.morebeer.com brags about their international customer base. They might be worth giving a try.
 
US have some heavy duty regs on plants and plant materials being taken in and out . Not as bad as Australia (or good depending on your POV!) but strict , regardless . Dont know how this affects hops but I wouldnt be surprised if it did .
