I'm a newbie and my brew got stuck, as I believe is common with the kit Im doing which is a Brupaks one. I had a brew belt on which was keeping it at 18C which is the bottom of the optimum range. I gave it a stir yesterday as on the stuck brew thread and it worked a treat and got it going again. The problem is I got back from work today and it was 30C.

I know that's too hot but is it being at that temperature for a day too much and is it worth continuing with it?

No harm in seeing it through to the end. 30 for a day shouldn't kill it, depends how far through the fermentation you were. Day 2 will create more off flavours than day 10. Either way it will probably still be drinkable!

I wouldn't bin it either. I would however leave it a bit longer in the primary fv to make sure the yeast did as good a clean up job as they possibly could i.e. don't rush it

Thanks, I have read that at higher temperatures yeast produces a different type of alcohol that causes bad hangovers, but wasn't sure if a day would be too long. Its on day 8 btw.

By day 8 it shoukdnt be producing much alcohol. Stick with it.

The alcohol your refering to is known as fusel alcohol. It's produced during the first 72 hours of fermentation along with most other flavour compounds so raising the temp later on the fermentation doesn't produce it

I've had that with my Wherry, 2 or 3 and I have a stotting headache but it's still nice. :)
