I have become increasingly unhappy with my 50L copper due due boil overs and the short life of the (2X) 2.4 Kw kettle elements. So I've bought a 71L pot and a Camco #02965 5500Kw.My question is, Has anyone used this heater and do they have any tips on the fitting of it? I've got the info on the subject from Kal of Electric Brewery fame which seems to be a good starting point but has anyone anything to add?

I assume you have thought through the power supply needed to run a single 5.5kw heater. You will have to run this off a 30 amp power supply, although perhaps you already do this for your 2 x 2.4kw heaters if run off the same supply. However if any wiring mods are needed they should be done by a qualified sparky who should also supply you with a Part P certificate. But perhaps you already know all this.

What were you unhappy about? How long did the kettle elements last? Why was it boiling over?

The person that specced my kit did it with three kettles all of 50 L so the choke point was the copper which could only handle 45L so I'm making a bigger one.In my humble opinion 2.4Kw kettles elements are not really up to the job in that they are designed to achieve 100deg C then switch off whereas we need them to hold the temperature for an hour apart from which they are getting to be quite expensive.The last two I replaced lasted about 6 months each and I'm expected a lot more from the Camco.
