Isn't there an option to set a delay on the PT100 NB :hmm:

I think I checked at the time the first one went, however I may dig out the manual and have another look, The Auberin ones might. :wha:

The PID units are designed to switch SSRs rapidly - the STC1000 units use relays and therefore switch slowly.
I am surprised that the tubular heater does not like the rapid switching - I'd have thought it was a simply heating element in an oil filled tube... :wha:

My PID has the option for a delay, it also allows you to set it not to reheat until it's lost 'x' percentage of the target heat. Might be worth RTFMing ;) :)

PID arrived this morning. Very fast service. Thanks Tim

Good to hear, Bob, thank you. That's the last of them now.

I can't find an obvious command in the REX PID manual to delay the putput however that may be just me not understanding all the options  I would welcome a second opinion.

EDIT - heat side proportioning cycle - can be set between 1 and 100 secs, normally set to 2 for an SSR output or 20 for relay - I may set this for somehting like 20 and see what happens.

I don't think the tube heaters are oil filled, just an element inside a pipe, they don't feel heavy enough. I may have to do a post mortem on the last one.

Cheers
Andy

Now looking at wiring diagrams :wha: and working out what I'll use it for - but have a few ideas :geek:
