I've just got back from the post office where I was intending to send a 500 ml plastic pottle of beer to a friend so he could taste what I was producing. The post office staff told me that I could only send 200ml of liquid through the Royal Mail! Has anyone else heard of this or run into any problems sending bottles through the post?

I don't tell them what is in the parcel!

I've sent several litres of beer to Ireland via Royal Fail with no issues

Same, glass bottles are dodgy to send :nono:
I once sent Aleman a bottle, when he went to collect it, it was in bits in lost/damaged property
BB

Best bottles I find for sending the 500ml brown plastic bottles that have had Morrisons shandy in them. :thumb:

That's what I'm going to do... at a different post office

I've sent several and never been asked what's in them. Glass ones too.

I've also received things like spiced oils - 50cl through the royal mail.

Weird! :wha:

   For personal use you understand

For curry making ... since then I've learned how to make my own :D

Thats what I thought it was for Tony   I don't think I would like to use chilli oil as an 'essential oil'

Ah, my bro made a truly awesome curry a few weeks ago when we had a family get together. It was a slow cooked lamb and spinach curry; I think the orginal recipe came from Rick Stein. Probably the best I've ever tasted. And I've eaten a lot of curry! I'll post it up in the snug ;)

Thanks for that Ceejay! I've sent Tony a PM to reply re the curry challenge :thumb:

Hey Steve
at work at the moment but I'll post the recipe here when I get home .. you'll need a bit of time though ... it takes a good few hours!

Nothing like a good challenge :D

Apologies to Duncs for hijacking!
