 Hi all first time on and first time brewer need help with bottling have bottled up and carbonated everything ,2litre bottles used ,went well but when i open the bottles the fizz kicks up all the sediment that has gathered at the bottom until this happens the beer is nice and clear please help as i am gagging to try has been in the bottles for 2 weeks now fermented for 11days to begin with thanks in advance

if there in plastic, store them upside down, ;)
then when the gunk has settled in the lid,
b4 drinking, crack open the lid, flush it out while still upside down over a sink and you will have clear beer...
i do this with all mine in pets :thumb:

The longer you leave them to condition the more you'll find the yeast firms up in the bottom, after mine have been in the bottle 4-6 weeks its set in there quite solid.
I use 500ml glass bottles so can pour all in one go but as you're using bigger bottles you'd be better off pouring it into a large jug leaving the sediment behind, serve from the jug and hopefully you'll have clearer pint

I have no problem carefully carrying bottles decent distances being careful. Type of yeast is important to sediment compacting, i just use s04 and its verrry hard to knock!

Chilling will often help , both with firming up the yeast and with making the beer less lively on opening . What is the brew ?

Next time a good secondary rest under airlock and even a fining will help but if you want the bottle carbonation then the sediment is mostly unavoidable . Although it IS manageable , with all the steps mentioned so far .

Chilling will indeed help as that holds more gas in the beer until it starts to warm up again, but I suppose that depends upon whether or not you like cold beer. As shocker said, what's the brew?

I'm guessing you may have over-primed, but as they are in plastic you can always loosen the caps and release some of the excess pressure before screwing them tight again.

The yeast type also has and effect Nottingham and so4 compact downs. The longer you leave it the better. I use 500ml glass bottles and only pour a small amount at a time topping up my glass but I always have a clear drink no sediment at all.

thanks all and the brew was the one that came with the kit youngs lager but have a mexican cerveza coopers brand using light malt extract and a brew enhancer using a propogate yeast 2308 munich, sg of 1048, in primary just now aswell.Hopefully it will turn out well just a little experiment of mine after reading up a bit whether its going to work or not , Who knows . :wha:
