Quite an interesting book I won't be a brewing bible for me but given me some interesting ideas for both beer and wine. Full of the usual suspects for hedgerow wines, but I d id't know you could do Himalayan Balsm Champagne, which is interesting as we have tonnes of the stuff growing near by. Also beer with rosemary. :hmm: :hmm:

If mods want to move this thread to book reviews feel free, but I couldn't be arsed to wait for a posting in that section.

It was Andy Hamilton that started me brewing and making my own bacon/smoking/curing type stuff. I know that he is writing another book at the moment.

We're thinking of getting a smoker..like this. just wondering if we would put it to it's best use, or maybe a waste of money?

You can get it for free as a pdf on his website here

That looks brilliant and will save loads of time building. I use an old wood burner that is conected to an ex wiskey barrel vial about 10m of flexible chimney liner. It means I can hot or cold smoke. Have done whole salmon, loads of fish and bacon. Now that I am getting head around PIDs I may build something with a little better temperature control.

That looks really good Rob and not to much money. Mind you I have managed to pick up a fridge and a filling cabinet recently I think I could construct one out of those
