Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help, the large screw cap on my fermentation barrel needs some gel or grease to ease screwing it on and removing it, I also believe it helps to seal the cap, I did wonder if vasaline would be ok to use.

Thanks

Dave

I use KY jelly as its pretty much sanitary to seal all my corny keg seals and to lubricate disconnects etc

I got hold of some food grade lubricant from eBay. Apparently used in ice cream machines. Was a bit dearer than Vaseline but the tube has lasted years. My dad and brother have pinched a load of it as well for their corny keg o rings.
