Don't laugh (well not too much), but I can phukup too
I make up a strong sulphite stock solution with 2.5 tsps of metabisulphite to 250ml of water in an old finings bottle, then use 10ml (being one tenth of a teaspoonful) in place of one campden tablet.
On my shelf I've got various pots of yeast, nutrient, pectolase etc. but they are all in standard sized pots. The only thing which is in a large tub is sodium metabisulphite.
Yesterday morning I was out of stock solution so I mixed a new one. I then squirted 20ml of that solution into a carboy and filtered 15 litres of finished Wurzel's Orange.
Something nagged in the back of my mind that my metabisulphite doesn't have a mostly black label. :wha:
Metabisulphite isn't the only thing that comes in a large tub, Steri-Cleen does too!
Steri-Cleen
<5% Potassium Silicate
<5% Sodium Dichloroisocyanurate
15-30% Sodium Carbonate
I have a mere two-tenths of a teaspoonful of that in 15 litres of wine, is there any chance that I can get away with it?
