pH looks ok (ish)
04.jpg

Mash temp bang on. only lost a degree over the hour! :D :D
05.jpg

wlp300 starter fermented out. The tube was BBE 27th of Jan but seems to have rermented out ok! :?

06.jpg

My VERY basic fly sparge set up. Geems to be getting me in the mid 90%'s though! :D
09.jpg

Somewhere in there is my Hertsbrucker! :D :D
08.jpg

And that's just a s*%t load of fuggles! :D :D :D :D
07.jpg

I had 10g of Hertsbrucker left so decided to bung them in at 15 mins! :D
10.jpg

Clear as a bell coming out of the MT

I didn't take any pics of the boil as I was trying to tidy the garage.

12.jpg

Put some cool wort into the starter to try and wake the beasties up :D :D :D

1.051 @ 20deg to give me 5.0%ABV and 16IBU. BeerAlchemy, what would I do without you! :D :D :D

The irish moss seems to have worked better today. I usually sling it in dry with 15 mins to go but went for 20mins as I have had less than excellent results with it. I forgot to order more protofloc with Paul the other day but will definitely be going back to it next order! :D

Aerated and yeast pitched. 20L (1L of which is DME starter!)

Looks like a great brewday :thumb:

I found some White Labs yeast in the beer fridge thats 18 months out of date - the starters have grown on nicely and smell OK so i'm splitting them tomorrow and will be growing the Burton Ale Yeast on again for a starter for a brew soon.

Great pics :thumb:

Looked a good brewday LB, glad its not just me that sparges with a showerhead :D
Brilliant shot of the clear wort running out of the MT :thumb:

Cheers lads! The yeast kicked off sometime throughout the night cos this morning it's going like the clappers! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Nice set of photo's this is a beer I want to have a go at, I like a good wheat beer, and Schnieder Weisse was my first foray into wheat beer when I went on a holiday to fulda west germany, in 1998.

You lot make this AG brewing look so easy :D

Then I read all the technical stuff and get all confused (not hard to confuse me)

But im watching, looking at the brewporn and hopefuly learning. :thumb:

LB is the avatar you on guitar????. If so do you fancy forming a HBF super group and going round gigging at all the BEER festivals :D

Lovely pics, lovely brew.
Hope it goes better than the match. The Scots! ;)

Just had a sample out of the FV to take a gravity reading. Down to 1.025 so only 5.% attenuation, I believe the yeast (wlp300) can be expected to get to 74% so still a little way to go, but it's only be going 2 1/2 - 3 days.

taste wise.........WOW definitley the best heffe I've done. The banana hit is so strong, which is good as it's my favourite flavour in a wiesse. I hope it stays. I'll be kegging this one and drinking it very early.

I plan to rack to secondary hopefully on Thursday/friday and get another brewed using the yeast from this one.
