Big thankyou to shaunsbrew who came to the rescue with 04 pack to save my non fermenting Sunday brew.
I Knocked up an off the cuff Pale ale and although only had 1 sachet of gervins left in the yeast stock I had no worries as never had problem with it sparking up before.
Sods law came to town and come Monday a.m. no action. I thought I would give it chance so went off to work fingers crossed hoping my ordered supplies would have arrived when I returned as local HBS are not open on my way to and back from work. Mon eve still flat as witches bosoms.
I normally have pack of 04 in fridge for ease of use for after work evening brews and emergencies i.e. sneezing in starter before pitching however sods law denotes not in stock when you need one. I have the pleasure of working in the same office as Mrs.Shaunsbrew and she sent SOS and 04 did arrive at 5pm via her lift back from work. After great stirring with paddle pitched last night and all is well and Cappacino like this am. 4.5 kg or warminsters best 60 g of home grown worc goldys 30 g chinook back in business.
Any body else had problems with Gervins? I rehydrated as normal checked water temps, dates etc, and keep in fridge, and all sterile.
