I read a post in another thread which said "dont fear the foam". I liked that and for my last 2 brews ( from Coopers kits), ive not rinsed the Star-San foam out befor botting.
I half fill the bottle with star san, give it a good shake, leave it to stand for a few minutes, then tip thhe star san into the next empty bottle, and place the one ive just emptied upside down in the dishwasher racks to drain. I do this in a kind of batch process, so Im not stood waiting.
When I come to bottle the brew, usually 10 mins or so since each bottle was inverted into the dishwasher rack, there is usually some foam in the bottle. I fill till all the foam is pushed out, the remove the filling wand
My question is, ( only struck me today), will the star san kill the priming yeast, preventing the bottles developing a nice head?
I havnt tried either of the two brews yet as one was only bottled this morning, and the other ws bottled 2 weeks ago.
Previous brews, where I have given the bottles a final rinse in cold water, (after rinsing in star san) have had a lovely head on them.
