When Chris was up for my brewday, he brought along a bottle of his beer.
The Grolsch bottle Popped nicely upon opening and showed the typical smoking gun on CO2. . .The beer was well behaved and stayed in the glass until I poured it, whereupon it generated a nice cream head, which faded over 5 minutes to a residual lacing of foam, in spite of the rising bead. Certainly a clear pass of the feck test.
Aroma was good if subdued . . . I think I get a predominant goldings aroma
Taste wise, clean and crisp with a nice light body . . . and a lingering bitterness coming though after the swallow. There is a dry astringency present, which does not do the beer any favours lending it a metallic harshness.
Other than the harshness . . . and perhaps a higher degree of carbonation than I enjoy normally . . . it's a very good beer . . .especially for a first attempt
