I have a saison in the FV two days. It's an adaptation of a recipe I brewed last year, a little darker, a little less strong at 6.5% predicted.
I see a few here have added kettle additions such as coriander, rosemary, or lemon peel.
A bit late for kettle additions for me, but I'm considering a pinch of ground black pepper and the juice and zest of a lemon to add 5 days before bottling.
Intended late hops were Saaz and Styrian Goldings. I found when weighing them out that I had run out of Styrian Goldings, so used Hallertau Mittelfruh. I'm expecting less lemony and more grassy from the Mittelfruh, so hoping lemon zest may give it a lift.
What do you think? Would this work as a flavour booster?
