Hi guys, if I wanted to connect my Kingkeg with S30 vlave to a CO2 bottle (pub style) what size and type of connection would I need from the valve?

Ta

Anyone? No? I've read elsewhere that an adapter can be used which fits onto the S 30 thread with a 3/8 push fit for the gas line but I can't find them anywhere!

I haven't got the answer sorry, but if you get sorted, that CO2 bottle will last you quite some time

I think widgetworld do some kind of universal barrel adaptor/connector that could help you with the S30 connection (e.g. here)

Or in the past I used the brass bit from one of those CO2 bulb injector cage thingies - like this - though mine was an old one from somewhere and it needed a lot of PTFE as the seal onit wasn't that great.

Thanks for this Kev, for that price it's worth a go, i've just ordered one of the barrel hoses.(from a different site as they are sold out!)
It doesn't say what diameter the hose is though, does anyone know?

I think I can help you. I've been trying to do the same thing and I've been (reliably) told that what I need is a " widget world universal barrel hose ". I've ordered but it hasn't been delivered yet. I don't think they make these any more, but there is one ( just one) available at colchesterhomebrew.co.uk. Good luck!

So I got my universal barrel hose midget widget thing which screws onto the S 30 valve but doesn't let in the gas. Do I have to modify the valve at all?

What I intend to do is get a metre or two of tubing of the same gauge as what's on the universal hose, prise out the brass insert at the S30 end of the universal barrel hose (dipping the end in boiling water will help), then fit the insert into one end of the hose I've bought (boiling water again). A suitable connector can then be fitted to the other end for attaching to the regulator. Most regulators seem to have a standard BSP fitting - mine is 3/8" male.

In my last post I should have said that I tried out the hose on my S30 valve using compressed air and it seemed to work fine, so no modifications to the valve are needed as far as I can see.

Hi,

New here and just wanted to say thanks for this thread. Although it is old, and the links seem to be not working, I managed to google searching for S30 Midget Widget and came up with this:

http://brewingathome.co.uk/product/midget-widget-world-universal-barrel-hose/

So trying to order one, but waiting to hear the cost to ship to Switzerland otherwise can ship to my brothers to forward here.

I also found some in-line stainless steel non-return valves on e-bay which I have ordered in case I need to disable the non-return valve in the S30.

that's what I have to force carb my 2 KKs works pretty good but can be a bit hit and miss if you leave the rubber on the underside of the S30 valve especially if your pub bottle of C02 is getting close to empty as it wont have enough puff to lift the rubber to inject the gas into the keg.
