Ruby Ale AG?

Ay up,

I just had a pint of Hobgoblin, what is it that makes it red? I quite fancy doing a really malty ale next, having just bottled 50 hop-fest IPAs. Would this sort of pint fit the bill? Is it a complex malt flavour that is making this so nice?

Malt combination. Plenty of clone recipes around! It's not really red but just a deep rich chocolate colour.
