On my King Keg the rubber ring is on the outside. When attaching a tap to a FV I have always put on the inside of the bucket. Must have got this from a diagram I guess? Never had any leaks until last night. Is there a correct position? Never thought about it before until this happened and noticed the difference between the two.

Maybe a silly question but I had to ask!

Generally rubber washers are placed inside, but looking at a diagram of the king keg tap, it looks like the washer fits against the tap flange, which is on the outside. So I'd say you're correct. However a king keg user may be able to help more.
Another pic here clearly shows the black rubber washer on the outside. If you do a google image search, you'll see many more like this :-D

Hi

I can confirm the o ring goes on the outside of the kk. You will see there is a rebate that the ring sits snugly in. Put some vaseline on the ring and be careful not to over tighten which may cause the ring to distort. I usually do them by hand and give the tap a turn at the end to nip it up.

Cheers

I ended up with a spare rubber washer when I bought a new tap so I have one on the inside and one on the outside of my FV, belt and braces sort of thing.
