Got home from a christening party, started flicking through the channels, on Discovery Shed was a whole afternoon of home brewing programmes presented by Rory McGrath (who I can only stand in small doses, usually)
Dunno how many I missed.
They were Ok but not knockout, but at least they were on!
It being Discovery Shed, they'll likely be on again shortly, at some weird hour or other. Check DigiGuide.com or LocateTV.com

Thanks for this :thumb: it's repeated tonight up until 3am so I've got me TiVo on the job

According to LocateTv there are only 5 eps, and I've seen them, so I'll relax. Dunno that I think they're exciting enough to record for dumping to DVD.

There were a few short progs in one of Fearnley-Whittinstall's series that covered various brews, they were quite good, I ought to track them down.

You'd think that with all the tv channels that are available, room would be found for a couple of hobbies and past times channels ? Not just beer brewing but there are lots of well established hobbies that people do and are interested in......

But No, we get " reality" programs and soaps rammed down our throats all the time

They do ( or did ) do a nice series with Bob Ross and his paintings ( and although not being a painter in any way I thoroughly enjoyed watching the mans undoubted skills ).

I watched them yesterday. My missus caught me :( Still it wasn't as bad as watching the Watch Commander on the VChannel. I could watch any amount of p*rn on the telly without fear of reprisal, but if I get caught watching that I get a clip.

Thank God Rory only made 5 episodes :) They were pretty good - I especially liked the taste tests at the end.

I totally agree, I've always said there should be hobby channels, there are ones for cars and woodwork, so why aren't there any for others
Bob Ross rocks

What on earth is Discovery Shed?

Well.. If you go down yer garden, you'll probably discover a shed you never knew you had! Have a closer look and it's on there

Discovery shed used to be good for fishing programmes but matt Hayes really gets on my nipple ends so I don't watch so much now, my favourite of all time is a passion for angling, they like to use antique tackle and old cane rods and they dress like Sherlock Holmes, right up my street. But last time I had that channel on I could have sworn they were gonna rename it to the tommy Walsh builds another f*****g shed channel.

One of the Discovery channels - Sky242. Often has stuff I enjoy that you don't get anywhere else.
Fishing, painting, DIY, building cars, Moonshiners, Model Town, Garden Railway, Supermodels (that's very big models of boats planes etc, not...)
Always worth flicking the Sky box up to the 200s and 500s to see what's on, if you're not doing much

Anybody else enjoy Best Of Crash on MotorsTV (recently moved to 447) ?

Guessing my hell raising days are over as I'm loving sheds. Mind you, back in the day, I used to like watching Jack Hargreaves etc., so it's probably a medical "condition".

I'm not a great fan of Rory, and he seemed to try his hardest to take the piss out of the "experts", but do ya know what? - I'd subscribe to that channel - providing of course it featured sheds ... and brewin' :D
