The original concept of the Rocket Stove was as a labour saving device developed to make the task of collecting wood in some parts of the world easier. It's design is such that it uses very little fuel, the fuel burns hotter and more cleanly than other types of stove.
The best one I have seen was constructed out of a piece of clay water pipe junction in the form of a Y or T piece. A small amount of wood was lit in one of the inlets and a pot could be boiled very quickly at one of the other holes as per the attached site/pictures.
