I've come across a white Chimay clone recipe that requires rice hulls - is this an uneccessary addition and can I get away without it?
T tubby_shaw Regular. Joined Feb 7, 2009 Messages 387 Reaction score 15 Aug 31, 2010 #2 The rice hulls are there to help with the sparge, they open up the mash and increase the porosity. They are not entirely necessary but you'll wish you'd added them if you get a stuck mash
