Hiya

My Rhubarb has been in Primary for for 2 weeks it has now stopped bubling and I was wondering do you re-rack to clean demi-jon and add stablizer and camp tab and let it clear for another week or two or do you add stablizer and tab bung in finings and bottle and leave in bottles for a good while before drinking

Rhubarb can be a funny thing I'm told some say weeks before drinking others say months this is why I'm unsure

Thanks for the help in advance

Ken

patience won't hurt whatever you do. mine are usually mostly clear before the first racking, you can quite confidently say fermentation has finished and you won't transfer much sediment at that point. if it's just finished bubbling, probably wise to give it a little while, some minor fermentation may still be taking place :thumb:

i have made 2 lots of rhubarb, one was very sweet, i suspect now it didn't finish fermenting. My second is just bottled and it's really nice already but has a bit of a litmus paper effect. I racked it once i think but it is so clear i figured i don't need to rack it again. Time will tell.

I don't like the idea of campden tablets so i don't use them - but i'm a newbie in this so we'll see if i change my mind down the line. So don't listen to me actually come to think of it - there will be some good pros in here hopefully replying
