People seem to be pretty relaxed regarding the finer details of producing turbo cider from supermarket juice, including which yeast to use. I was just wondering about reusing yeast for a second batch. Once you have syphoned off the fermented cider, would you just chuck in some more apple juice over the old yeast to get it going again, or is it more complicated than that?

You can do that - I know some who will pitch their juice in top of a used beer yeast cake for example. However, you will likely be drastically over pitching the amount of yeast you’ll need. I do a TC once every few beer brews or so, and just take a couple of dessert spoons full of yeast from the beer yeast cake to ferment the cider.

I was thinking about taking the low effort approach, which seems appropriate in this case. :laugh8:

Rather than clean out and sterilise the demijohn, it sounds good to be able to just bang in some more juice for a second brew. athumb..
