Hi,
I'm a bona fide Geordie lass who used to watch her Dad brew his own beer when I was knee high to a stotty cake. This led to me making my own wine after I found an old book in a second hand shop. Country Wine recipes brilliant, it led to vast amounts of dandelion. elderflower & berry, potato, rice, tea etc. However a new house and child eventually stopped the production line and all the equipment was idle and either thrown out or lost.
But now I have decided to make a come back I miss the fun and like not having to pay extortionate prices for a bottle of vino

So hello and I hope I don't make an ass of myself

welcome back to the hobby and a warm welcome to the forum.
Wine making hasn't changed much, you can still make great cheap wines from out of the hedgerow. The kits have improved ( like beers ) but so have the prices.
Fruit juice wines are still cheap and the " tea bag " wines can grace any occasion.
The basics of wine making have not altered and I'm sure you will have no problems getting back into habit.
Good luck.

Thanks to you all for a very warm welcome it's good to be back and I'm off to the boot sales at the weekend to grab some accessories and might check out the hedgerows and markets as well.
