Hi All,

Was just wondering if it's at all possible to bring back a brew from the dead? I used a friends plastic pressure keg recently and the lever tap seal isn't very stable on it; had de-pressurise and reseal it twice now due to leakage, as a result it's getting stale: Is it possible to add a similar wort to revive it into fermentation or is it 10L that should go straight down the drain??

Cheers,

Threesheets.

If it is old and you have broken the seal more than once, my advice would be to start again. Even if it is uninflected, it won't taste right if you add it to other wort and re ferment.

Cut your losses.

Any infection will simply use the new fresh wort as food and grow into that as well, sorry, but if it's 'gone off' it's headed for the drain :(

well im skint and scottish so i would make a hop tea plus some spraymalt/dark sugar and extra yeast to bottle-should recover nicely-do the same with my kegs when it gets a bit flat and stale-plus if use different hops can get a totally different beer!-unless it is smelling a bit sour/infected then i think its best for the drain-oxidised is fine though
