Hi all, I’m new to beer brewing so I can imagine I’ll have a lot more questions to come! I’ve done a few kits so far and next I’m planning on a wilkos 1 can IPA kit. I bought it a while ago and have misplaced (lost the yeast sachet). I bought a sachet of Nottingham yeast as I hear it’s good for slightly colder temps and my house is quite a cold one and at the moment I don’t have the proper equipment to control the fermentation temp. My question is the wilko yeast sachet was a 5G one and the nottingham yeast is 11g, will 11g be too much? Thanks, basil!

I made this in July with 500g medium spray malt 1kg brewing sugar. 25g Chinook hop tea and Chinook & Mosaic dry hop.

Whilst nothing special it was pleasant enough. Swmbo didn't like me drinking it cause she said it made me smell like an old man. Not wind or anything disasterous, just a strong ale smell. I know what she means and I've drunk beers in pubs like it but I don't know what caused it. Only thing I can think is a strong noble hop in there or something.
