Hi,

First post on the boards.

Been making homebrew (mainly cider, wine, sparkling wine, liqueurs) for a couple of years now and have just managed to get hold of a beautiful cast iron press that I have restored. Its now ready for its first pressing of the year so I wait with anticipation.

Just thought id share a few pictures with you guys to see what you think.

Its a 100litre cast iron press. I removed the old wood from the basket and have replaced with untreated white oak.

The base is cast iron which i have seasoned and managed to achieve a good, non stick coating.

Im hoping to rent it out over the next few years to recoup some of my outlay but just want to get it working first!

one rather big issue is i dont have any apple so im off scrumping when the season comes along.

Any questions give me a shout..
