Hi everyone,

Can anyone recommend a second refrigerator to store beer in? Ideally, it's smaller than a standard refrigerator, no need for freezer, and is sized/built to maximize the amount of interior space to store upright bottles (12 oz. and bombers) and 16 oz. cans.

Thanks in advance.

Most of our members are in the UK, so you might not get a great deal of applicable suggestions given that brands and models tend to be region specific.

But, @BarnBrian is right - how long is a piece of string. And as already stated, given your only requirement is for the fridge to store cans and bottles, you literally have thousands of options available to you. It all depends on how many bottles or cans you want to fit and whether you are restricted in terms of vertical and/or horizontal space.

A lot of folk would rush out and buy a brand new fridge, a waste of money IMO. Nothing wrong with second hand units and they are often dirt cheap/free!

You need a larder fridge. And not a new one which what others have said. Second hand is fine. If you buy it (rather than get one for free) make sure it is working properly before you hand over the cash. Mine cost £20 out of the local paper and other than a few marks it's nearly new.

I found that with buying a second-hand fridge you rarely have the luxury of picking which brand, model, etc.
When they do pop up for sale on eBay, Gumtree, etc., it's a case of checking if its big enough, is it in my price range, then make an offer.

What you need is a larder fridge. However, you want one with as many grooves along the walls so that you can adjust the shelves.

The benefit of a non larder fridge is you can stack two on top of each other and have different temperatures in each. Down side is they often struggle to take the height of a steel fermenter.
