Hey Guys,

I did a Copper Mexican Cerveza Kit a while ago and it is conditioning nicely, very nice taste and just the right amount of bubbles.

I did it with a mix of Malt Extract and Sugar.

Can anyone recommend me another premium lager kit please?

What should I be trying next?

Cheers!

:D

I'm not much of a lager guy, but have heard great things about the Coopers Heritage Lager.

Any of the Barons Lager Kits are excellent, as is the Brupaks Brewers Choice German Pilsner

Try muntons gold pilsner it's the best I have done so far. Far better than coopers, better brew and brupaks lagers.

Whoa thanks guys, alot of choice here!

Are the above mentioned all kits?

Would I proceed as instructed on the kits using their supplied yeast or do you guys prefer alternative yeasts?

Do you use sugar or DME?

Cheers,

Beans.

Most kits recommended 1kg sugar, two can kits don't usually require anything more than is in the can. If it uses 1kg sugar, I like to use 1kg enhancer and brew to 21L instead of 23L :thumb:

The Brupacks kit gives you the choice of what to add, sugar DME or LME, and comes with a Lager yeast.

The Barons kits you don't add anything, and come with an 'appropriate' yeast . . .Also while they are 29 quid, I have heard of some suppliers selling them off at considerable discount . . . .

Any chance you can name and shame the puveyors of such disgraceful behaviour Aleman

Called into my LHBS yesterday, and whilst perusing the selection of beers I said to Wendy the owner to let me know first when she discounted the Barons kits as I heard they were being discontinued.

''Make me an offer oldstout you handsome devil'' she replied

I did.... :thumb: ;)

......and she accepted :hat:

I now have the shops remaining Redwood ale and Cerveza kits in my house

Which is nice ;)

I love my LHBS

The reason they are being discounted . . . even though they may not 'advertise' it . . . is because they are not being imported anymore
