Hi all,
I'm pretty new to this, with only one lager kit under my belt (results still pending), but I want to try and get a stash primed and ready for Christmas. With the lager done that's the better half happy, and she's going to be making a white wine also, but I fancy getting a Christmas beer ready. Nothing too strong, but something flavoursome.

My favourite beers to drink vary, but if there's anything out there that's similar I'll jump on it:

Old Speckled Hen
Old Golden Hen (recent discovery, love it!)
Tanglefoot
Badger Ales (apart from the peach atrocity)
Double Chocolate Stout
Any other stout
Porters (although I wouldn't necessarily want to drink 40 bottles of porter)

I have no aversion to brown ales, but don't really know specific brands that I definitely like...apart from good old newcy I suppose.

Your recommendations will be gratefully received :)

I have just bottled the Brewferm Christmas Beer - so far only tasted a couple of shotglasses worth - but very nice, at about 7%. Kit only gives 7 litres according to instructions. But you won't want to drink large quantities of this in one go ....

Nelson's revenge is a great kit and i think it taste fairly similar to old speckled hen, if you get one on by the weekend it'll be ready for xmas festivities :drunk:
