iv brewed afew kits before and never actually thought about this until today while i was at work... When i bottle and capped my ale i just took a cap out of the bag and capped it to the bottle.

now should i have cleaned these first before use ? or doesnt it matter as they were sealed up and new ?

I know stupid question :wha:

i put enough caps in a bowl. pour on boiling water, a squirt of milton fluid. give it a swirl (with my super heat resistant finger) stand for a minute. drain. rinse in boiling water. drain. give em a sniff and if there is no odour i put them in a fresh bowl and take them to the bottling area.

i will be doing this ina few hours.

I don't bother, but then I don't sterilise my bottles either - they just go in the dishwasher. Had no problems yet... touch wood.
