Been reading a few bits about re using a yeast slurry.
I am about to keg / bottle a Wherry and was thinking about using the yeast slurry in a Nog kit instead of the supplied yeast which people seem to think is crap / not enough.
I take of the liquid Wherry and am left with a couple of inches of slurry.....questions
1)
Can I keep it in the FV with the lid on for a few days ??
2)
How much do I add to the Nog kit ??
3)
Will it affect the performance / flavour / etc of the Nog ??

I you want to use it, sterilize a jam jar (boil it) then mix up slurry and beer at bottom of fermenter and strain into the jam jar lid and keep it fridge, for a day or two will be fine.

If you use it straight away you can just use the slurry straight, though I always sieve as AG can have hops and bits.

Will have no adverse effect on the Nog

there is normally a 24 to 48 hours lag as yeasts gets up to speed when brewing breweries don't get that because they add enough yeast

Thanks for all the info guys.
Will re use my Wherry 'slurry' in my Nog when I set in going.
Should be no danger of not using enough yeast then !!!

Re using yeast works well as you can see :D
