Mine finished so racked it, just started another with blackberry polish syrup.

Just checked and a potential abv of 24% :) rocket fuel, anyone want the recipe let me know

I've just tested my strawberry one an OMG very tangy but can't wait for it to finish bubbling an get it drank.

I started mine yesterday morning to the recipe in the OP with a packet of Wilkos yeast. But as the recipe said i only put a tsp in. Is that correct? Or should i have put the whole sachet in?

Also I have put nutrient in but after 24 hours it didnt seem to be doing a great deal so i put lemon juice in and gave it a little shake but now i am wondering if this was the right thing to do?

Cheers guys. Im rather new to this. Well ive brewed a beer kit and got a cider kit on the go but this is the first "non kit" thing i have done :thumb:

Glad it got going! It's a horrid feeling waiting and wondering will it take off :)

Hope it goes well and I enjoy drinking it!

Dunno what i have done wrong but there is no fizz in this at all. Not even a faint pfft when i crack open a lid. It has been bottled for about three weeks now.

I batch primed and can't for the life of me remember how much sugar i put in there and i didn't write it down. Stupid i know.

If i add a teaspoon of sugar to each bottle (500ml) will there still be any yeasties left in there to carbonate?

Has anybody tried priming bottles with syrup instead of sugar and if you have, how did it turn out?

What temperature are ur bottles kept at?

Yes you can add more sugar even after that amount of time
I hope it goes well and 1teaspoon should make a nice fizz!

This happened to me once and I put it down to not rinsing the bottles out well enough after I washed them in sterilising solution... If that is the case then ur yeasties are going to be dead and no amount of sugar will help!

If it was mine I'd add sugar and keep my fingers crossed
Good luck mate!!

Thankyou, i shall add a spoonful now. Fingers crossed. I made some of your alco-coke and bottled that at the same time.

These do have a bit of fizz in them but could do with more. Will adding a bit more sugar to these help or now that they have some fizz will trying to get more just kill off the original fizz? If you see what i mean :?

The bottles were at room temperature for the first 2 weeks then have been left in our caravan for the last week and a bit which is a bit warmer than room temp

I have never tried priming using syrup but on another one of my post just worked out that...
ur looking at 50g of sugar to prime and in

100ml of the raspberry stuff there is 64g so ....

64 / 100 = 0.64gram of sugar in 1ml of raspberry

How many ml needed to make 50g of priming sugar
50g / 0.64g = 78ml of raspberry syrup

Please check and double check my figures but that's what I'd do!
Ps. I'm sorry if I'm wrong twice ;)

I have never primed this way coz I never have 80ml of syrup hanging around as it's either drank of already in the brew!!!

Thanks for the feedback second2none, i take it the 78ml would be for batch priming? New to all this so still getting a feel for how to do things. Will be popping down the local homebrew shop tomorrow to grab the kit i need and seeing as this looks like a relatively easy brew, will be trying rasberryade and possibly alco-coke (maybe with a cherry twist) as my first batches before i move onto trying fruit turbo ciders.

Yes this is for batch priming
When you syphon off the brew from the Demi into a clean container add the syrup and give a good mix then bottle :)

Please don't put 78ml syrup in each bottle hehehee :thumb:

Mines fermenting away strongly still! Tomorrow is the 1 week mark. It's been kept around 20 deg. Doesn't look like it will be stopping any time soon lol is this normal?

Also I like the idea of batch priming with more syrup! I will be eagerly waiting to hear how that goes :).

Mine tastes good bit of an alcohol kick but was tempted to top it up with last of the syrup.

Would this ruin it?

Would add more sugar and if u bottle that sugar and priming then u will get toooo much fizz

If u add more syrup then give it a few more days fermenting, but remember the sweetness will go with it and ppl have said before.. Two bottles is two much!
Maybe it tastes strong coz ur just bottling and it will calm down a little
As wouldn't have said this had a kick it's just like an alcopop

Finally bottled today and primed with raspberry and lime syrup as suggested above :).
I'll report back when I've tried it

I brought a bottle of this from one of the local polish shops near me. Just noticed the bottle I grabbed is raspberry and lemon. Had a little taste n tastes lovely. Should make a nice drink once it's done :D
