hi all ,i have had reasonable success with turbo cider in the past and now find myself with a glut of strawberries and raspberrys on my allotment.Would it be possible to add these to the apple juice to flavour the cider?I have all the equipment,DJ ,air lock ,etc and have a fruit juicier can i use this to pulp the fruit? .

I mixed 4 litres of asda apple juice with 1 litre of pulped up raspberry/strawberry juice added the yeast will let you know if its any good inthe coming weeks

Has anyone tried this, i too now have some strawberries and am wondering how to make a strawberry cider.

do i just pulp up the strawberries and add to the apple juice for fermentation from the start?
Would i add strawberries for a 2nd fermentation?
do i pulp the strawberries and make some kind of syrup and add this to the bottles for priming?

Any help would be much appreciated, i have tried trawling this forum for answers but i can only find guides for the Monin stuff, there are a few topics on using real strawberries but they all seem to be questions with very few answers.

Cheers

I haven't tried strawberrys but I have tried raspberrys.

I mashed the raspberrys in with the apple juice, added pectalase and yeast, let it ferment out, bottled and left it to mature for months. It makes for a very nice drink around christmas time, it takes a while to mature.

i did try this ealier on this year
either i did nto put enough strawberrys in or it was just plain horrible

i reckon next time im going to make teh TC as a base and add fruit nearer the end, to keep some of the flavour
save it fermenting out
in fact i have a TC due to finish this weekend and i might just give it a whirl

missus bungs in fruit juice occasionaly
