The plan for today is to brew a Candied Orange IPA.
Can someone check the recipe below and see if it sounds OK.
Fermentables:
2kg Light Dry Malt Extract
1kg Amber Dry Malt Extract
A bit of left over syrup from making candied orange
Hops:
40g Summit 60mins
10g Summit 15mins
20g Lemondrop 15mins
20g Amarillo 15 mins
(I'm toying with the idea of adding 10g of each of the three hops at flameout too).
Citra - whatever I have leftover (maybe 20g) added as a dry hop
Other:
Peel of 1 orange added at flameout.
Peel of 2 oranges candied and added with dry hops.
Peel of 1 lemon candied and added with dry hops.
I have a bunch of other hops I can substitute in:
Willamette, Simcoe, Mandarina Bavaria, Cascade and EKG.
I'm also toying with the idea of swapping the light malt extract with Extra Light Malt extract, the only reason for this was the Light Malt was delivered already separated into 1kg bags while the extra light is in one big bag so i could do with using a significant amount of it in one go.
